Wil Overton
Lead Concept Artist – Rare – Perfect Dark Zero
Wil Overton is an artist at Rare, Ltd., the game studio responsible for two Xbox 360 launch titles Perfect Dark Zero and Kameo: Elements of Power. Overton has worked at Rare for over 6 years. On his latest project, Perfect Dark Zero, Overton worked as the lead concept artist and interface designer responsible for the setting the art direction of the overall look of the videogame. Prior to working at Rare, Overton spent time as the Art Editor and Illustrator for two of the United Kingdom's specialist media Super Play and N64. He has written, illustrated and designed for a host of other well-known publications including Edge and the Official Playstation Magazine (UK). Before his stint in the publishing industry, Overton instigated and helped launch the UK's first newsstand Japanese animation magazine, Anime UK, and also worked for companies such as Dark Horse and Manga Entertainment.
Overton is married with a three year old son who's still more enamoured with trains and tractors than video games. In his spare time, Overton likes to watch Czechoslovakian animation, collect 1960 – 1970's Marvel comics and run an online toy shop with his wife. His favourite Xbox Live Arcade game is Robotron 2084.
